Hoflieferanten Berlin are corporate members of Freunde der Nationalgalerie and love to provide a culinary framework for events in the wonderful Scharf-Gerstenberg collections, in the Hamburger Bahnhof or, as on 22 May, at the members’ meeting in the Neue Nationalgalerie.
This members’ meeting was indeed something special: after nine eventful years as chairwoman of the association, Gabriele Quant was bid farewell. However, she will remain on the board of trustees. Berlin entrepreneur Christian Kohorst was elected as the new chairperson.
The keynote speech at the subsequent festive dinner was given by Minister of State for Culture Claudia Roth, who never tired of emphasising the importance of art for democracy and praising the work and commitment of the association.
After the welcome champagne, over 650 guests enjoyed our classic family-style asparagus dinner. After all, communication and socialising between members is a matter close to the hearts of the Friends. The mild spring evening ended with good conversation and delicious desserts.
